Majlis Graduation nite untuk Nassry dan Nadzry

Malam ini tamatlah zaman persekolahan Nassry dan Nadzry di Sek Keb Seri Hartamas.

Rasanya macam baru semalam mereka berdua masuk darjah satu di sek yang sama. Pulak tu berbanding dengan kawan kawannya yang laoin mereka agak kecil tubuh badanya. Mungkin kurang makan tak pun kurang tidur. Entahlah tapi yang nyata mereka dah masuk golongan atas 12 tahun, dikenakan bayaran macam orang dewasa. Majlis ni pihak sekolah bersungguh-sungguh buat untuk hiburkan bebudak tu. Tapi sound sistemnya. ...... .alama k spoil la sikit. They could have done better. The children seemed to enjoy the event very much...banyak dapat hadiah. Sedih jugak bila fikirkan mereka dah spent 6 tahun kat situ akhir sampai jugak masa perpisahan ini.

Baru beli MacBook New

Baru beli Apple MacBook semalam, model ini baru dilancarkan beberapa minggu lepas di Cupertino dan stok sampai di Malaysia minggu lepas.

Model ini kelihatan seperti MacBook Air daripada warna yang kelihatan. Lama sudah dah tak pakai Mac selepas MacBook yang lama dicuri di Hotel New York beberapa bulan lepas.

Terdapat banyak perubahan dalaman dan luaran yang diperkenalkan pada MacBook baru ini berbanding dengan MacBook versi sebelum ini. Casing MacBook baru ini dihasilkan dari sebongkah aluminium yang dimesin, tidak lagi dari plastik yang dicantum-cantumkan. Ini membuatkan luaran casing ini lebih kuat dan licin.

Terdapat beberapa perubahan yang diperkenalkan didalam bahagian interface, satu daripadanya adalah kemudahan trackpad yang tidak lagi mempunyai butang penekan, keseluruhan trackpad adalah butang penekan.

Teknik pengawalan melalui trackpad juga telah dikemaskini, jika dahulu pengunaan trackpad boleh menggunakan dua jari untuk scrolling, kini trackpad boleh menggunakan tiga dan empat jari. Kemudahan tiga jari untuk scroll memapaparkan paparan seperti di dalam preview dan empat jari pula untuk menolak semua tetingkap keatas dan kebawah.

Selain daripada itu tidak banya perubahan yang kelihatan. Walaubagaimanapun terdapat juga kemudahan yang telah dicicirkan pada model yang baru ini, kemudahan tersebut adalah kemudahan Firewire.

Secara keseluruhan saya amat berpuashati dengan MacBook yang baru ini. Harap-harap ianya tidak dicuri lagi, kalau tidak kenalah tunggu 10 bulan lagi untuk ganti model yang baru.

Katil tali Charpoy yang unik

Charpoy merupakan katil yang diperbuat dari tali pokok Jut. Ianya dahulu popular dan dapat dilihat di kaki-kaki lima bank dan kilang-kilang yang mengaji pengawal dari bangsa Sikh.

Kini katil Charpoy ini jarang lagi kelihatan di perkarangan bank atau kilang, ini adalah kerana tugasan pengawal telah digantikan dengan CCTV dan kemudahan penggera.

Tergerak hati dua bulan lepas apabila terpandangkan katil tali ini apabila sebuah Charpoy kelihatan dihadapan sebuah kedai di Melaka. Namun Charpoy tersebut digunakan untuk pengawal Sikh disitu dan beliau tidak berhasrat untuk menjualnya. Ini kerana sekarang tidak ada lagi kedai yang menjual Charpoy ini atau mereka yang tahu bagaimana hendak menghasilkannya.

Semenjak dari tarikh tersebut maka pencarian untuk mendapatkan Charpoy ini telah bermula. Kebanyakaan Charpoy di hasilkan di India dan Pakistan. Ini adalah kerana tali pokok jut mudah diperolehi.

Dipendekkan cerita selepas mencari beberapa lama, terdapat seorang sikh yang tinggal di teluk kemang Port Dickson sanggup menghasilkan Charpoy dari lakaran yang diberikan. Oleh kerana proses menghasilkan Charpoy ini sukar beliau memerlukan masa selama dua bulan untuk menyiapkan katil Charpoy yang dipaparkan.

Katil Charpoy yang berukuran 68x43x16 ini telah siap dihasilkan dengan kerjatangan yang begitu rapi. Kosnya berpatutan untuk hasilkerja selama dua bulan.

Pada masa yang sama sebuah tilam kekabu bersaiz sama juga telah ditempah di penjual tilam kekabu yang berniaga ditepi Jalan ke PD.

Hasilnya katil dan tilam yang ekslusif bukan sahaja selesa digunakan tetapi menarik untuk dijadikan perhiasan dan menjadi bahan bualan yang menarik.

Fadzilah, Nadiah dan Naim ke Bandung

Hari ini tiga sekeluarga telah berada di Bandung selama tiga hari., esok mereka akan kembali ke KL.

Setiap hari kami sentiasa berbual melalui Skype. Kos panggilan hanya 9 sen seminit. Panggilan waktu malam kadangkala agak kurang jelas, namun untuk sekadar berbual-bual ianya sudah mencukupi.

Nassry, Nadzry dan Nasuha pula ada kegiatan perkemahan di Sekolah sepanjang hujung minggu.

Di rumah kini hanya tinggal Nafhani, Nazneen dan Nafeesa.

Nadzmi baru sahaja balik dari Sek Teknik sempena cuti sekolah, boleh juga temankan adik-adiknya. Hari ini merupakan hari untuk repair apa-apa yang rosak di rumah. Nadzmi memang pakar memasang barang letrik dari komputer ke kipas angin.

Ayah pula didalam perjalanan ke Angkasapuri sekarang. Ada majlis perpisahan pelajar yang menghadiri kursus di IPTAR.

Sebanyak 50 kenderaan telah menyertai karnival ini, kalau menang sekejap lagi saya update blog ini.

Kedai di Rawang ni memang popular dengan masakan Padang. Yang uniknya kedai ini hanya buka tepat jam 1 sahaja. Oleh kerana tempat duduk dan makanan adalah terhad maka ramailah yang telah menunggu walaupun kedai belum lagi dibuka.

Perniagaan sebenarnya perlukan gimik, walaupun rasa makanan lebih kurang sama namun dengan gimik yang tepat ianya akan secara langsung dapat menarik perhatian pelanggan.

Basuh kereta

Hari ini mula bercuti selama seminggu. Cadangnya nak ke Tasik Kenyir sempena cuti sekolah. Tapi sebelum itu kenalah basuh dulu bas sekolah ni.

Kereta ni gunanya untuk bawa keluarga makan angin sahaja. Cadangnya nak tukar ke Alphard tapi kos pinjaman sekarang amatlah tinggi.

Habis bayar 5 tahun bunganya sahaja boleh beli kereta satu lagi. Kereta pula bila habis bayar harga pun dah tak ada lagi. Yang untung adalah bank.

Naim got an offer from University Islam

Horray! A letter of offer from University Islam for Naim, he is going to be the second family member to enter University after Nadiah. He wanted to be a Pilot but our advice for him is to get a degree first and then get a Pilot license. Why be a Pilot? Its all about money. The cost of living is very high and the opportunity for employment after graduation is very low.

Even if he manage to get an employment, his salary wont be sufficient to cover his own living expenses, let alone to buy a house and get married. Well that's life, you have to do what you have to do. Life goes on.

Every generation has its own advantages and disadvantages. When I started working my salary was only RM800, it was sufficient back then, 20 years ago. But now even if you're drawing RM3,000 its still not sufficient. Price of houses has skyrocketed, from RM100,000 for a terrace house to RM300,000. In the next 20 years, a million dollar houses is not uncommon.

Well congratulation to you from daddy and mommy. For us, there are still eight more to go. Whew.

Spending the night with Celine Dion

Tonight we spent the whole night with Celine (attending her concert that is). I won two tickets courtesy of Celcom worth RM1,000 each. Not bad for one email slogan on why I love my Blackberry. Love my Blackberry because I can do things that I can't do before like updating my Blog from a concert, that's right. I am blogging while watching Celine concert, pretty cool ha? Yes, I know I shouldn't be doing that in the middle of thousands screaming fans, but this is the only yime I can do it. Once I leave the concert, other matters will take priority, so during the intervals I can then use it productively. Tonight is also Fadzilah's birthday. What a suprise for her,, better than a diamond ring. Celine Dion is her favourite artist. Still remember all the songs and bring back memories during the student's days in Iowa City. The king and Tun Mahatir were also present. Saw Datuk K and siti, MuKhriz and Vincent Tan at the front row. Celine sang non stop for nearly 1+ hours what perfomance worth the price of the ticket. Fadzilah's Nokia battery kongked out so not many pictures were taken. Anyway all the memories will be captured in our minds forever although not in digital format. Good night Celine! Terima kasihhh....

The grass always greener on the other side

This is Ahmed Nadzrin, he is the fourth. He is the handyman of the house, always busy as a bee. The grass in our house cannot be a bit greener from the the other side. He is alwas ready to fire-up the Bosh every weekend. One thing about him is that, he can't stand heat. Everything must be in shade.

This is my second son, Ahmed Nadzmi, returning to his hostel in Manjung yesterday. He is so penyegan to go back to school. Always finding reason not wanting to go back. Luckily after much coaxing by his mum and with iPod Shuffle we managed to put him on the bus without much hassle. Kids nowdays is better off at home than in hostel, but his mom thinks otherwise.

Attended my wife's student wedding ceremony

Weekends are reserved for wedding functions. Attended a wedding function tonight somewhere in Kemensah Heights. This wedding ceremony is quite unique because it was the second wedding for both the bride and the groom. I attended weddings for Uda and Dara but never before attended weddings for Duda and Janda. I didn't realised it at first, but things started to reveal the status of the Bride and Groom when there were no parents at reception. Usually during all weddings, the parents waited at the canopy entrance to shake hands with the guests. But this time no one waited. All the guests were wandering aimlessly and just help themselves to the free seating. One thing that I've learned tonight was, not to arrange the tables in an endless row. If you do that, the guest will be forced to sit at one side of the table and they will ended up eating with strangers at the other side of the table. Anyway, Selamat Pengantin Baru. The RM50 is still in my pocket. Not sure who should I give it to.

Taking the kids out on saturday afternoon

Its always raining in the late afternoon . Several time our trips has to be postponed because of the wet weather. Today we are taking different approach, we will leave in the morning. At 11 a.m. In about 30 minutes we have arrived in The Lake Garden. Everybody is rearing to go with their Radio Flyer and Trikkes. Forgot to mention the little adorable Nafeesa also in tow. We have not been able to go outdoor for two weeks already. Last weekend everyone was busy celebrating the 100 years of Masjed Jamek Kuala Lumpur (will blog about that later) Baby is so rewarding to to photograph. You don't know when is the right moment, so you have to be always ready with you camera. Blogger now makes it easier to add photograph to the post. Previously you need to upload it to Flicker frist and after that do a copy and paste the URL in Blogger. I ended up not to put picture in a lot of previous posts. Thank you for the Radio Flyer, it makes transporting the kids and the supplies a breeze. This is our second Radio Flyer, the first was bought arounf 2000 at Toys R Us. It lasts about 2 years and things started to fell apart. The second one I bought in Barcelona last month during the trip to GSM World Congress. It was priced at €99. I got the Trikke in Sydney. The first time I saw it was in Barcelona. During that time I didn't know what it was called, but it looks interesting. It was a human powered vehicle. You just rock your body to the left and right to make it moved. I ordered two for my kids. One a T6 and the other was T8 Air. The kids took it like fish to water. Not for long they were doing all kinds of tricks on the Trikkes. Nasuha even ride it through the steps. What a blast!

Taking the Kids out for some Arabian food

It has been a while the family go out for dinner. Well one thing because we can't always get everyone together. There always seems to be one that's not around. But for tonight everyone is home except Nadiah. She is somewhere in Tokyo.

We went to an Arabic Restaurant near Ampang. Been there once with Fadzilah few nights ago. Seems like a nice place to bring the entire family. Found a table for 11 in the middle of the restaurant.

We ordered Chicken Mandy and Lamb Karbala. What was interesting was the serving. The dishes were served on a big plate. It reminds me of food served in Johor. They called it nasi ambeng.

Our table was one of the noisiest around. What do you expect from a bunch of teenagers and few toddlers. Everyone was having fun pronouncing all the arabic words on the menu. We did a few fear factors reality shows i.e slurping sour youghert and downing a bowl of hot chillis.

Nightmare in Bukit Segambut

It was 1:30 pm, while I was driving back to the house, suddenly there was a taxi stopped on the right of the road. It was unusual because the place where the taxi stopped wasn't near anyone house. A few seconds later a man appeared to be pushed out of the car and seemd was in distressed. I stopped my car a few meters away and started to grab my Kodak V610 that was always clipped on my belt. While pressing the record button, the passanger of the taxi jumped out with half meter parang. I just prayed that the passanger didn't do anything that made me a witness of a murder sence. The taxi was reserved and speed of. Initially I tought of prusuing the taxi, but my instinct told me otherwise. Better to help the taxi driver than to pursue the taxi that will be covered by insurance anyway. The driver seemed to be in distressed, there we're bruises and cuts around his wrist and neck. I contacted the Polis Rakan Cop centre and relay to them on what has happned. And quickly I drove to th Mont Kiara Police Station to make a Police Report. Later that day I called Kamay of TV3 Bulletin Utama to pass to them the recordings. The recording was aired on TV3 BU that very night.
